Tour Description

Tour of the coastal part of early Dalmatian territories. Dalmatia, one of the six regions in Croatia, has everything what a discerning traveller needs: mountains with hiking trails, lakes, plains, sea, islands, rivers. Dalmatia has three out of eight national parks, and five out of eleven nature parks. On this tour you get to experience some of those gems.


Day 1 : Šibenik – Krka Waterfalls -Trogir - Split

In the morning, walking tour of Šibenik, the oldest native Croatian city in the Adriatic including the famous UNESCO world heritage site St. James Cathedral. The authentic lunch is scheduled in the very remote village of Kalpić followed by a visit to the Krka Waterfalls. Continuing the scenic ride to the medieval town of Trogir including the visit to St Laurence’s Cathedral, the municipal loggia and different Palazzo’s. Overnight in Split 1#.

Day 2 : Split

Visit of the Diocletian’s Palace beginning with the sightseeing tour of the substructures through the labyrinth of tunnels, followed by the visit of Peristyle Square. The sightseeing tour continues at the heart of the palace complex and to the Cathedral of St Domnius (patron saint, the nearby Temple of Jupiter, the gates that once served as entranceways to the palace itself and much more… Afternoon at own leisure. Day 3 : Split – Island Hvar - Split

Departure from Split by boat to Starigrad on the island of Hvar. Car/Bus transfer from Starigrad to Hvar. Sightseeing tour of Hvar old town including the Cathedral, Bishop’s palace, Hvar’s Piazza - the biggest square in Dalmatia, Hvar’s theatre (dating back from 1612) with Arsenal, the Franciscan monastery (dating back from 1461), the exceptional old masters’ collection, as well as the Hvar fortress. Lunch in Velo Grablje (or Milna). After lunch, drive by the UNESCO listed Ager Plain to a superb wine tasting venue modelled on the ancient Roman dining room and buried in stone below the Tomic winery in Jelsa. Day 4 : Split – Delta of the Neretva River - Ston - Dubrovnik

Early start from Split in direction of the south passing through the impressive delta of the Neretva river, well-known for its mandarin production, just before the brief pass-through Bosnia and Herzegovina and reaching the cities of Mali Ston and Ston (aka Salt City). In Ston, visit of the monumental defensive system constructed by the Republic of Dubrovnik. Tasting the local delicacies - oysters, mussels & wine. Continuing
via panoramic coastal route to Dubrovnik admiring the Elafiti islands. Upon arrival to Dubrovnik, visit the old town centre including the Pile Gate, big Onofrio´s fountain, Roland's column, bell tower, Stradun promenade, Dominican monastery, Franciscan monastery and Rector's palace. Free evening to enjoy Dubrovnik by night. Overnight in Dubrovnik 4#.

Day 5 : Dubrovnik – Perast – Our Lady of the Rocks – Kotor – Tito’s Villa Igalo* – Dubrovnik

Bus drive from Dubrovnik to the city of Perast in the magnificent Montenegro’s Bay of Kotor. Boat sail to the islet of the votive church of Our Lady of the Rocks followed by a short drive to Kotor, the main city of the bay, surrounded by a 4,5 km (2.8 miles) long system of defensive walls. Lunch and visit of the cathedral of Saint Tryphon, the Maritime Museum, Saint Luke and Saint Nicholas and Saint Mary Churches. On the way back to Dubrovnik, optional stop in Igalo to visit Tito’s Villa in Igalo. (*depending on season/opening hours). Overnight in Dubrovnik 5#.

Day 6 : Dubrovnik
